Halloween I was given free reign to create our costumes and landed on one of my all time favourite on screen couples – Khaleesi and Khal Drogo.
The Khal Drogo costume was surprisingly straightforward, a cheap dark wig from the Reject Store tied in the Dothraki style, a (terrible) stick on wig, lots of black eyeshadow and a leather apron fashioned in to a stomach wrap. I also picked up leather wrist straps and a ‘weapon’ from a fancy dress store and paired it all with some brown chinos.
Khaleesi proved a little trickier but eventually came together with the help of a bright blonde wig, plaited of course. After searching for a brown top to no avail I got hold of a large men’s brown t-shirt and cut it in to a similar shape to Khaleesi’s top in Game of Thrones. A hair tie at the back ensured it fit.
A brown mini skirt was covered by a tea-stained cream pillow case to complete the look. It probably wouldn’t make the cut as cosplay but served us well enough. Happy Halloween!
